I’m a graduate student researching nineteenth-century Shakespeare reading groups. I came upon a reference to the Othello Club of Paris, TX, in the Houston Republic for Feb. 20, 1858, and I’m interested in finding more information about this club. I’d particularly like to get my hands on record books, correspondence, or journal entries regarding the Othello Club.

I am looking for obit or graves of Frank H Bailey born 1839- died May 1912 and his wife Mary
Ella Bailey born 1842 and died 1906. They both died in Paris Texas and I assume they

Looking for Garretts Ferry Rd

Hi - My ggrandfather is the the 1910 Lamar Co census, Precinct 1 on Garretts Ferry Rd. Does anyone know where this road was located? I see an area called Garretts Bluff near the river. I’ve tried finding an old map online that might show it, but haven’t found one. I’m planning a trip to Paris next week for research. Are there historical maps there?

I need some help locating the Hendricks (aka Hendricks Black) Cemetery. I know it’s in Lamar County, perhaps within the Paris city limits. I’m researching a Korean War hero who is buried there. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I would like to find the burial place in Lamar County for James Isaiah Forbess or Forbish and his wife Elizabeth. Isaiah was born March 2, 1814 and died August 31, 1862. Elizabeth was born July 23, 1813 and died November 30, 1866.
