In doing research on my mother’s side of the family. I’ve discovered a story and am looking for any information about my great-uncle. His name was Palmer Carroll Porter, aka P.C. Porter or Palmore Porter. He was convicted in 1949, Court docket #11723, for killing a man and being sentenced to Huntsville for life.
Palmer died in 1966. I’ve been able to get a picture from the TCJD and am attaching it. The family story is that Palmer shot a man who had been moving the fences on his ranch. The case was appealed and Palmer was sent to jail in 1950. I had never heard this story until this year.

Has anyone here ever heard this story or seen any newspaper clippings about it? Where would I look for these items? His parents are buried in the Annona cemetery, J.D. and Sidde Carpenter Porter.
According to the 1930 census, Palmer was living off Coleman Springs Road with his wife Suddie, son James or Jd, daughter Pearline (or Annie), son Spurger, and daughters Leola(?) and Margie.
Thank you,
Vicki
